Our History: Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Resort opened its doors 14 years ago. Our casino is owned by the Ak-Chin Indian Community and managed by Harrah’s Entertainment.
Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. is the world's largest provider of branded casino entertainment. Since its beginning in Reno, Nevada 70 years ago, Harrah's has grown through the development of new properties, expansions and acquisitions, and now owns or manages casino resorts throughout the U.S. and on four continents. The company's properties operate primarily under the Harrah's, Caesars and Horseshoe brand names; Harrah's also owns the London Clubs International family of casinos and the World Series of Poker. On January 28, 2008, Harrah’s Entertainment was acquired by affiliates of private-equity firms TPG Capital and Apollo Global Management.

Typically, Harrah’s employees volunteer over 1700 hours of time to the community – that’s the equivalent of over 42 work weeks. The H.E.R.O. committee has participated in such activities as Habitat for Humanity, Susan G. Komen Walk, Alzheimer’s Walk, Highway Clean-up, Earth Day, Meals on Wheels and United Way events, just to name a few! In 2008 alone, Harrah’s Ak-Chin donated over 3100 canned and packaged goods to local food banks.
