Our History: Scottsdale Healthcare is an Arizona nonprofit health system serving the northeast Phoenix and Scottsdale metropolitan area of Phoenix. Founded in 1962, it is the largest employer in the City of Scottsdale with approximately 6000 employees; Scottsdale Healthcare has long been known for its clinical talent and bringing innovative new medical technology and services to Arizona. Our three hospitals, cancer center and research institute serve one of the fastest growing communities in the U.S.

Our Culture: A leader in partnering with the community for health and wellness initiatives, Scottsdale Healthcare’s vision is “Setting the standard for excellence in personalized healthcare.” Our collaborative culture focuses staff members on what is best for the patient. We reinforce this through support for continuing education and an emphasis on patient safety. Scottsdale Healthcare is consistently recognized as a “Best Employer” both locally and nationally and recently received Magnet recognition, making it the first multi-hospital health system in Arizona and one of only 12 in the U.S. to achieve the status for an entire organization.

Benefits: Scottsdale Healthcare strives to provide employee benefits that go beyond our competitive salaries. We provide many opportunities for training, education and career development; pre-paid tuition for healthcare professions, as well as alternative work options, such as flexible scheduling, job sharing and phased retirement. Additional benefits program including medical, dental, vision, health and wellness program, loan repayment for many clinical professional positions and on-site child care (opening the summer of 2007).

Employee Testimonial: “What I find with Scottsdale Healthcare is that they do care about the patients every step of the way. What I like best is the holistic type of environment where patients and families are actively involved. Being a nurse for almost 19 years, I began to feel dated…and I started questioning myself. But when I came here I felt like I was part of a team. I was really proactive and not just passively doing what I was told. The individuals I work with have let me know that they are interested not only in keeping me the way I was, but allowing me to grow in whatever area I needed. The interaction with patients, families and staff are positive and I enjoy it everyday.” (Herb, RN)

Client Satisfaction: “My mother was a patient for about six weeks and during that time I often felt that the people who cared for her had been hand picked. They were so exceptional. My mother had been ill for many, many years and hospitalized often. There was a kindness at Scottsdale Healthcare…a kind of wisdom that we really needed. The people there are a cut above. They weren’t like anyone we’d experienced anywhere else. They’re just indelibly printed on my mind and my heart.” (Maria, patient family member)
