Departments: Mercy Gilbert Medical Center’s commitment to patient care and staff development spans numerous areas of specialization. Medical/Surgical: This unit offers a wide variety of opportunities to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients and their families. Inpatient and outpatient surgery are available 24 hours a day, including the latest noninvasive arthroscopic and laser techniques. This department also includes a surgical unit for pre- and post-surgery patients. Emergency: With a more efficient design, our new 24-hour ER facility offers faster triage and more effective care. Patients experience shorter wait times, while ER personnel enjoy the benefits of working in a state-of-the-art environment. ICU: We offer an environment that allows for nursing autonomy and excellent working relationships with physicians. A 2:1 ratio for general ICU patients allows our staff to focus more intensely on patient advocacy. Maternal/Child Health: Comfort and technology go hand-in-hand in this new Family Birth Center with a Level II Nursery Center. As with all of Mercy Gilbert's new units, our employees work with state-of-the-art technology and share the benefits with our patients. Telemetry: Our Telemetry unit is one of the most technologically advanced in the area. In this dynamic setting, our team members work with other dedicated healthcare professionals who are among the best in their fields. Diagnostic Imaging: The Mercy Gilbert Diagnostic Imaging Center houses the most advanced imaging technology available, including a 64-slice CT scanner, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy procedures, and interventional radiology capabilities. Additional Services: Our comprehensive services include an on-site laboratory, endoscopic colon, stomach and lung studies, inpatient physical and occupational therapy, and cardiopulmonary services for the diagnostic testing of heart and lung problems. Company History: Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, Gilbert's first hospital and the East Valley's newest Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) facility, opened its doors in June, 2006.
