From Alaska to Arizona, Banner Health’s dedicated medical professionals are fulfilling our mission of providing excellent patient care to thousands of people in need through hospital care, home care, hospice care, long-term care, nursing registries, surgery centers, laboratories and rehabilitation services. Banner Health is the leading nonprofit provider of hospital services in all the communities we serve. Our Western Region facilities serve a number of rural areas -- many are the only inpatient facilities available within the community.

Valued Workforce
Based in Phoenix, Ariz., Banner Health is one of the largest, nonprofit health care systems in the country. Our valued workforce includes more than 27,000 employees, making us one of the country’s largest employers as well. In fact, Banner Health is a leading nonprofit employer in every community we serve. In our Arizona Region alone we employ approximately 20,000, making it the state’s second largest private employer, and we are one of the largest employers in northern Colorado.

At Banner Health, we believe fully engaged employees are the foundation of our ability to achieve our mission of providing excellent patient care.  We value diversity and offer excellent career opportunities with great benefits for those looking to make a difference in the communities we serve.

High Quality Health Care Services

In addition to basic emergency and medical services, Banner Health offers a variety of specialized services, from heart and cancer care to high-order multiple births and organ transplants, as well as Level 1 trauma services, rehabilitation services and behavioral health services.  Banner is also involved in cutting-edge research aimed at helping patients suffering from some of the most serious diseases and conditions, including spinal cord injuries and Alzheimer’s disease. Our Banner Alzheimer’s Institute in Phoenix is a distinguished area of service.

We are also currently developing a partnership with The University of Arizona that is unprecedented in Arizona. The impact of this collaboration in Arizona will be evidenced by a significant increase in the number of M.D.-trained physicians in Arizona, and patients who will have markedly improved access to the highest level of research and patient care, especially cancer patients.

The foundations of the partnership include a College of Medicine (COM) hospital, the transition of Banner Good Samaritan’s sizable Graduate Medical Education (GME) program into the College’s GME program, and a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer hospital, the first in Arizona. Both hospitals will be constructed, owned and operated by Banner. The College of Medicine hospital, which will have a medical staff of full-time COM faculty, is envisioned by be 200 beds. The cancer hospital will be under the direction of the COM’s Tucson-based Arizona Cancer Center.
